Milestones & Numerous Firsts

Medinova is an established institution in the field of imaging and diagnostic healthcare not only in Bangladesh, also in South Asia.       

  • First private healthcare center in Bangladesh as well as in South Asia to install a state-of-the-art technology 128 Slice Positron Emission Tomography-Computed Tomography or PETCT imaging center in 2012, a highly advanced technology to facilitate the diagnosis of tumors and/or cancers at both molecular and structural level simultaneously. Till today it is the only 128 slice PET-CT imaging center in Bangladesh.
  • First private healthcare center in Bangladesh to install two unit of highly advanced 128 Multi-Detector Ultra-Fast CT Scanner (MDCT) in 2012, to provide rapid, highly accurate, razor-sharp images with lowest dose of radiation to facilitate diagnosis of diseases at whole body level including non-invasive Cardiac-CT angiography, Cerebral, Renal, abdominal, thoracic and peripheral angiography. It can image a whole body in 0.35 second. They are in clinical use in our Dhanmondi and Uttara centers.
  • First in Bangladesh as well as in South Asia to install a fully integrated highly advanced Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction Laboratory – Smart Cycler II (PCR LAB), to facilitate diagnosis of diseases at molecular or DNA/RNA level.
  • First private healthcare center in Bangladesh to establish a state-of-the-art technology CT ImagingCenter in 1992, even when there was not a single unit in any Government-owned hospitals or postgraduate or undergraduate teaching hospitals.
  • First private medical provider in Bangladesh to deploy the 1000mA Digital Radiography in 1992 which has revolutionized in the radiological imaging history in Bangladesh, when there was not a single x-ray unit above 300mA for clinical use in Bangladesh.
  • First private medical provider in Bangladesh to deploy the 1000mA Digital Mammography in 1992 which has revolutionized in the diagnosis of breast tumors in Bangladesh, when there was not a single unit for clinical use in Bangladesh.
  • First private medical service provider in Bangladesh to deploy an Amphibian AIR-AMBULANCE service in the country in 1992 for assisting in the rapid evacuation of emergency patients from across the country.
